Parent’s Anniversary

September 27, 2008

My parents have left for their weekend anniversary trip this morning. My brother, sister, and I decided that we would give them a trip for their 24th anniversary. We planned it with my dad and my mother had no idea where they were going. We got them a rental car (a Lincoln Towncar) and paid for the hotel and tickets onto the Biltmore Estates. I think that my mom is really going to like the trip. They left this morning before I got up, so I didn’t get to see her reaction to the car, but they called me and she gushed about it. πŸ˜€ I’m glad that they liked everything, I’m just worried we won’t be able to top this next year. lol

Top Ten Favorite Movies

September 20, 2008

In order to try to post more regularly, I’ve taken to looking for ideas on the web. I’ve found this website that randomly gives you blog ideas. This was one that I thought people might be interested in, since the rest of my life is so boring. This will be a list of my top ten favorite movies at the moment. Subject to change depending on any new movies I’ve seen and just how I feel at any given moment. lol This is in no particular order.

1. Cruel Intentions – Ryan Phillipe. Need I really say more? He is a total hottie. πŸ˜€ Plus I love the cruel Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar) in this movie. She really needs to play the bitch more often. Add in Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair and this is almost a perfect movie.

2. Kingdom of Heaven – I really love the story behind this movie. I’m a huge fan of historical dramas. And the fact that it has Orlando Bloom in it certainly doesn’t hurt. πŸ˜€

3. Pirates of the Caribbean – I actually love all three of these movies. I could have listed them separately, but what’s the point? Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, and Keira Knightly….need I say more?

4. The Devil Wears Prada – Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep were both awesome in this movie. And I’d never seen Emily Blunt before, but I loved her in this movie! She was absolutely hilarious. πŸ˜€ I loved the fashion as well. I wanted almost anything that came on the screen.

5. Fight Club – This is one of my favorite movies with Brad Pitt. This was so different from what he normally did back then, and he was so hot doing it. πŸ˜€ And of course I’ll watch anything with Edward Norton in it anyway.

6. Step Up – Yes, I love dance movies. I will admit it. And of course it helps that Channing Tatum is in it. I guess it’s just that part of me that really wants to be a dancer but knows that it’s never going to happen.

7. Wanted – I looooove action movies. And this one was totally awesome for me. I love the guns and the car chases and the explosions. I also love James McAvoy, but you never heard that from me.

8. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants – I loved both of these movies. I’ve read the books as well. I guess I love the idea of four friends sticking together through everything, even when they are apart. πŸ˜€

9. Reign of Fire – I really loved the whole idea of this movie. And Christian was great, as was Matthew McConaughey.

10. Memento – I’d never heard of this movie before I watched it, but I’m so glad that my friend let me know about it. The whole idea behind this movie, of not remembering anything from moment to moment, is so interesting! I also really love how the movie actually moves backwards from scene to scene. It’s this whole buildup that is so intense! Love it!

Well, that was my list of current favs. Some of those movies will still be on my list next week and some may not. πŸ˜‰ Anyway, let me know some of your favorites or recommendations based on mine. I always love to watch a good movie.

Where you can find me.

September 18, 2008

I figured I’d make a little post about where I can be found on the internet. I know most if not all of the links are on the sidebar but I figured that I’d emphasize that a little bit. First of all, if you have questions you can always comment or email me. Or if I’m online, you can always instant message me. I only use AIM. I haven’t had a need for another messager. But if a lot of you complain about that, I can always try a different messager if you want to talk to me. My email and my aim name will be added to the sidebar soon.

Aside from that, you can always visit my Twitter page, my Flickr, or see me at the message boards that I post at. The list of MBs that I frequent and my usernames at them are listed on the sidebar. Hope that helps anyone that wants to talk to me. I’d love to make some new friends.

yWriter

September 11, 2008

With NaNoWriMo just around the corner I’m scrambling to come up with a plot. I’m in a panic because I don’t really have much time to plan this year. The one thing that I don’t have to worry about is what I’m going to use to write this thing. Last year I was on the NaNoWriMo forums and I saw a topic that offered a link to a free program to write your novel with. It’s called yWriter and it’s a totally awesome program. You can use it to list characters, make timelines, scenes, and chapters. It was totally awesome last year, even if I didn’t get to actually finish. So I figured I’d share the love! πŸ˜€ Enjoy!
