Holiday Wish List

December 24, 2010

Since Christmas is tomorrow, this post is going to just be a little visual wish list of this I’d like to get for Christmas. Just pretty little things I’d like to see underneath the Christmas tree. πŸ˜€ And some things that may not necessarily fit under there. I’m not really expecting all if any of these items, but they would be a lovely surprise. πŸ˜‰

1. I want a house! LOL No, what I’d really like is snow. I really want a white Christmas this year. Last winter it didn’t snow until January and that lasted like two days. This year I’d like to be able to play in the snow for Christmas at least. I guess since I’ve moved from up north I’ve really missed the winters.

2. A nook color! I have the original nook and I love it to death but the new nook looks amazing! Plus I do enjoy have a back lit screen. I like to read in bed at night and since I don’t have a bedside lamp, I have to have the room light on to read, then get up to turn it off when I’m done. It’s a bit annoying, but then again, I’m used to it with regular books I suppose. But the nook color would solves that plus all off the new features it offers. I’m a bit of a techno geek and I just love having new gadgets. πŸ˜€

3. Anything that has to do with crocheting. I’ve recently learned how to crochet. (Well, I’ve stopped crocheting triangles anyway. Who knew you have to count stitches?) Anyway, I’ve been wanting to expand my horizons a bit and crocheting is actually really fun! I want books and yarn and different needles to help me learn and do more. I will learn to be thrifty. πŸ˜€

4. Yet another bookshelf. Even though I don’t actually have the room for it, I’m hoping that if I get one, the room will just magically appear. Despite have an ereader, and despite the lack of space I cannot stop myself from buying books! It’s an addiction! I really should try to stop myself, but I really don’t want to. lol

5. Pretty notebooks! I love all kinds of notebooks. I have so many blank ones right now, but I just feel that you can never have too many. Unless you don’t have the room of course. (Refer to #4.) I just love the paper and the covers and the different options to choose from. I prefer blank or lined, but I’ll used squared paper if necessary.

I love this time of year! The holidays are finally here and I’m ecstatic. It’s finally starting to really feel like Christmas around here. For a while I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get into the Christmas spirit. But no worries! I’m so into it now! πŸ˜€

I have been drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows pretty much everyday. Plus those little sugar cookies they sell in those tins during the holidays. So good! I love the ones with the sugar sprinkled on top. We put up our decorations about a week after we came back from our cruise and the house looks amazing!

I’ve been busy working and trying to get in the rest of my Christmas shopping. I’ve bought gifts for everyone except my mother. And that’s only because she is the hardest person to buy for, ever! Hopefully I’ll be inspired by something this weekend, I don’t have much time left.

I am hoping for a bit of a white Christmas actually. It’s snowing in Atlanta, so I’m hoping that we get a little bit of that in Augusta. The snow earlier this year was fun so maybe we’ll get a bit again. *crosses finger* Merry Christmas, guys!

Thanksgiving Cruise!

December 2, 2010

Hey guys! I’m back! Well, I’ve been back for almost a week now, but it’s been so crazy with me going right back to work and everything. I never had a chance to really update. I finally had time to go through my pictures and put them on my facebook as well as on flickr. If you want to see all of the ones I posted you can go to my flickr account as you can see it to the right. Or here is the link directly to the set for the cruise.

Above is the ship we sailed on, Monarch of the Seas. It’s one of the smaller ships of Royal Caribbean but that was fine with us. It was our first cruise it was probably best to start small anyway. πŸ˜€ We had a great time! The first day we spent just exploring the boat and finding out where everything was. It was a lot of up and down on those stairs, because waiting for the elevator was just torture!

The second day was spent on Cococay. We went snorkeling and on a nature walk. Plus they had a lunch there for us and some shopping as well. The weather was amazing! Not too hot plus nice and sunny. πŸ˜€ Loved it! When we went back to the ship after lunch we just hung out. There were always lots of activities going on and we went to different trivia games that were offered everyday. The first night we went to the Spy Movie trivia game. Throughout the cruise we also went to the Michael Jackson trivia game, the sports trivia, logo and mascot trivia, movie quote trivia game, and more. It was lots of fun and we kept running into the same people at the games. πŸ˜€

The second day we landed at Nassau in the Bahamas. There was great shopping there and we got tons of free jewelry! Apparently the Bahamas are tax and duty free and the jewelry there is really cheap. I got some earring and necklace pendants. Plus we went to a pirate museum which was really cute. That night on the boat there was a Love and Marriage game show which was very funny. Lots of laughs and not so much for the kids. πŸ˜‰ Plus there is always food available on a cruise! You can eat pretty much 24/7 for free! I had to have gained at least 10 pounds over those 5 days.

The last day was purely a cruise day. There was no docking so we spent it on the cruise eating and playing games and watching shows. It was a lot of fun. Plus we went to the casino and gambled away our money and spent shopping in the shops. It was so much fun that we’ve decided to make it a tradition for every Thanksgiving. We’ve already booked our cruise for next year on a bigger boat and this time we want to go to Mexico. πŸ˜€ I can’t wait!
