Document and Discover 2011

February 2, 2011

Since I’ve started up writing in a journal this year (again), I’ve been looking online for inspiration. Once source of inspiration I’ve found is from Mae Jane on Doc-U-Menting. I love to see her her artwork on her flickr page as well as her photos. Anyway, this year she has started something called ‘Document and Discover”. It’s where you answer monthly journal prompts to help in self-discovery. Since that is something I’ve decided to focus on in this new year, her project is kind of serendipitous. 🙂 Above is my answer to the journal prompt for January. (Sorry for being so late. I decided I’m going to do these at the end of the month if possible. Sort of to let the prompts germinate in my head and to let me think on them. This is the first chance since then I’ve had to post them.

The above is the first page which lists the questions from January’s Prompt:
1. Who do you want to become this year?
2. What do you want to accomplish this year?
3. Where do you want to be/end up in 2011?
4. Why these Goals? Reality check: Understand your desires.
5. How will you get there?

I also save fortunes from fortune cookies. (I know I’m not the only one.) So I taped in the ones that seemed to fit the theme.

“You have only begun to scratch the surface of your real potential.”

“It’s up to you to make the next move.”

This next page contains my answers to the questions on the previous page. Mostly this year I’m concentrating on not letting my fear get in the way of my progress and to stop allowing my self to putting everything off.

I’ll be posting these here at the end (or beginning) or each month as I answer them and I’ll also have them up on my flickr page here.

Happy journaling!

  1. wow. I really liked that link you shared–she is so unbelievably creative!

I have a similar “what” goal for myself– my motto this year is less thinking more action!! (Within reason of course…)

  2. Inspiring stuff – I want to start a journal now!! 🙂 xx

  3. I love your journal! You have beautiful penmanship! So pretty. I look forward to seeing more, and I’m bookmarking that link for some inspiration for my journal, too. =]

  4. That looks like it is such a great idea, awesome goals too. 🙂 And wow Mae Jane is a creative journal-er!

  5. How is your journaling going so far?
